Okay, this thing is pretty dang cool. While The Amazing Spider-man does not nearly have me as excited as The Dark Knight Rises, this new clip certainly does make the film look a lot more intriguing than it did in the past.

The trailer starts with a long scene on a bridge where Spider-man is saving cars being thrown off the bridge. He has to go save a kid trapped in one of the cars. We get a touching moment where Peter takes off his mask and throws it to the kid and tells him to put it on so he can be strong. This gesture is both heroic and slightly arrogant. That is exactly what Spider-man should be.

Still not a fan of the parents angle. Nor do I think the Lizard will be better than Alfred Molina’s Dr. Octopus or even Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin. But in terms of getting the character right, for now it really seems that both the script and Andrew Garfield have created a version of Spidey far more fascinating than Tobey Maguire.

The Amazing Spider-man hits theaters July 3rd, but in the meantime you can check out the new super-trailer below!
