Parks and Recreation: “Second Chunce” Season 6 Episode 10 Review: How Was the 100th Episode?

Who would have thought Parks and Rec. would have ever gotten to episode 100? Quite a milestone for a show with this low of ratings.

Now, onto the episode itself. It’s Leslie’s last day in office. So how does she deal with it? She plans to run again after a fellow councilman finds himself in a sex scandal (again). Leslie asking Ben and her friends for support was spotty because it was difficult to see where the storyline was going.

But once Ben brought in Bobby Newport’s campaign manager, things got interesting. She tells Leslie that she is destined for bigger and better things outside of Pawnee. This could be another tremendous arc for Leslie if she chooses to expand her vision outside of Pawnee, the town that rejected her.

Meanwhile, Tom seems to finally find his calling after losing Rent-A-Swag. After struggling with a bunch of random ideas, he finally takes a page out of April’s book, coming up with a new idea to keep small business alive in Pawnee. Naturally, Ron loves the idea.

Now, onto the rough story of the episode. Was it me or did Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe just seem off tonight? Their decision to find out the sex of the baby felt very sitcom-y. It’s a shame that by the end of the episode I was excited for them to leave.

So, as a 100th episode, this was a middle of the road outing. However, Leslie’s future looks incredibly bright. For that, I am very thankful. But I also hope that Parks and Rec. is smart enough to call it quits before 200. Grade: B
