DC naysayers, the joke’s on you.

With just over eight months to go until Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, San Diego Comic-Con was the perfect opportunity for Warner Bros. to show off what they’ve got. And what they’ve got turns out to look pretty damn good.

This trailer feels epic. Fans’ criticisms of how Superman essentially leveled a city in Man of Steel have been heard, and even look to be the driving force of what this film is about. How much good is this godlike person from outer space really doing for our planet? Bruce Wayne doesn’t seem to think a whole lot of him. The shots in the trailer of their fights look phenomenal. The few moments of dialogue seem to be tapping into the most fascinating aspects of both Superman and Batman, the former as a villain of sorts and the latter as an obsessed maniac.

We also get out first few shots of Wonder Woman in action, as well as some taunting from Lex Luthor at the end. You’ll also notice a few clear nods to the Joker throughout, who will appear in Suicide Squad a few months after this film. Though this will certainly spark rumors of the Clown Prince of Crime showing up a little earlier than expected.

Overall, this trailer should quiet DC worriers for a while. There’s a lot of promise in these three and a half minutes. But we won’t find out for sure until March 25, 2016, when Batman v Superman finally flies into theaters. Check out the trailer below.
