Hitting the Internet a few days ahead of schedule, Universal has unleashed our first real look at Jurassic World.

Taking place on Isla Nublar, the same island as the classic original, World puts us 20 years after the events that seemingly put the kibosh on John Hammond’s passion project. But, in the words of Ian Malcolm, “Life will find a way.”

That life belongs to director Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed), who has been given the chance of a lifetime to resurrect a franchise with one of the most nostalgic fanbases out there. The first trailer plays up that nostalgia, sticking in shots of big opening doors and Gallimimus stampedes.

But this isn’t going to just be a bunch of old tricks with better CGI. As the tagline puts it, the park is open, already raising the stakes higher than ever before. And there’s some new dinosaurs, namely Mosasaurus, an ocean-dwelling dino that the park feeds great white sharks in a Sea World-esque show.

The main threat Chris Pratt, who in my fantasy world where he’s just Andy Dwyer from Parks and Rec. is so excited to be doing a Jurassic Park movie, and Bryce Dallas Howard seem most worried about is a new, genetically modified dinosaur wreaking havoc on the park. As if resurrecting dinosaurs wasn’t playing God enough.

That said, the trailer ends with some of the franchises most familiar villains: Velociraptors. The classic hisses are heard as Pratt rides a motorcycle in the middle of a pack of them. Yes, I definitely want to see what happens next.

Jurassic World hits theaters June 12. Check out the trailer below!
